This 8.000 ha reserve lies on the south coast of Java and has been established to preserve several species of sea turtle, that lay their eggs on the beaches. The surrounding area is overgrown with lush tropical rainforest, beach forest and mangrove forests.
You can reach the reserve from Pelabuhan Ratu. A bus will take you from Bogor to Cibadak (1 hour). From Cibadak it takes another 1.5 hours to Pelabuhan Ratu. From there you have to arrange some kind of transportation to Cibuaya (5 hours). Permits are available at the PHPA head-quarters in Bogor.

Based on the results of feasibility report of the Institut Teknologi Bandung in 1975, vegetation in this area can be divided into forms such formations Litoral Formation, Formation Pescaprea, Baringtonia Formation Formation Coast Forest / Lowland, Alluvial Formation, Meadow Formation (natural and artificial ), Plantation Forest Formation.

The situation type of vegetation in the region including tropical rain forest type lowland consisting of different vegetation formations. From the formation can be found litoral various types of seaweed like Sargassum, Gelidium, Halimeda and others. Formation of Pescaprae tumbuhannya Ipomoea species pescaprate, Ishaemum muticum, Spinifex littoralis, Canavalia sp and others. Baringtonia Formation consists of type tumbuhannya Nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum), katapang (Terminalia catappa), Pandan (Pandanus tectorius), Pandan bidur, Cycas rumphii, Sophora tomentosa, and others.

From the formation of a coastal forest / lowland tree species consist of Kiara (Ficus sp), Laban (Vitex fubescens), Lagerstroemia (Langerstroemi sp), bulging (Sterculia foetida), Diosphyros sp and others. From the formation of alluvial areas covered only kind of ship, namely Liguanan sp. And many found Awi Gereng (Bambusa spinosa). Of the various types of protected wild animals in Cikepuh, there is a green turtle (Chelonia mydas) which is one wildlife species that are rare, so the need for efforts to maintain the viability of these animals.
