Tanjung Penghujan

Location:2°55’S, 111°35’E; southwest of Kumai, Kabupaten Kotawaringin Barat, Central Kalimantan.
Area:40,000 ha
Description of site:
A swampy coastal area bordered by a fringe of mangrove forest (at least 17,500 ha) and backed by freshwater swamp forest.
Climatic conditions:
Humid tropical climate.
Principal vegetation:
Mangroves and freshwater swamp forest.
Land tenure:
State owned (Indonesian Government).

The area has been proposed as a Nature Reserve (Cagar Alam) and Recreation Park (Taman Wisata).
