Banyak Island Lodge

In 1996 the protection status of most parts of Banyak Islands was upgraded from Wildlife Reserve to Protected Nature Tourism Park. The World Conservation Union recognises the importance of tourism as the worlds major civil industry. They therefore believe that only tourism that is respectful of the environment and the well being of the people should be encouraged and promoted. Banyak Island Lodge has not been affected by the recent suspension of activities at the turtle foundation on Bangkaru Island. BIL is the only legal surfing company in the Banyaks that pays taxes and retribution to the local government as well as giving social help to the people. Contrary to concerns by some future guests BIL has not now or has ever had a problem taking guests surfing to Treasure/Turtle/Bangkaru Island. Note: Most surfing operators in the Banyaks are illegitimate and your trip may be disrupted at any time by the authorities/locals Lodge Overview Banyak Island Lodge which has been built on privately owned land consists of three large natural wooden buildings constructed of all local materials, thus preserving the island style vibe.
