Sungai Lalang Nature Reserve

Site Description
A large flat area consisting of freshwater and peatswamp forest and many small rivers; the main one being Sungai Lalan. It is under logging reclamation pressure, and several parts are being developed for transmigration schemes. Principal vegetation: Mangrove vegetation with Sonneratia sp, Rhizophora and Bruguiera occurs near the coast. The freshwater and peatswamp forests contain species such as Oncosperma filamentosa, Pandanus tectorius, Gluta renghas, Melaleuca sp, Fagraea fragrans.
Site Location
Sungai Lalang is a tributary of Sungai Calik, which runs into the Banyuasin River at Selat Bangka.
