Site Description
A small island in the Pulau Banyak (‘many islands’) group, with some surviving beach vegetation and lowland forest. The beaches are important nesting grounds for sea turtles.
Site Location
Pulau Bangkaru lies off the north east coast of Sumatra, 15 km south west of Pulau Tuangku, between the major islands of Simeulue and Nias.
