Sumbawa, Hanta Ua Pua, Festival



Hanta Ua Pua is a traditional ceremony that was held by Muslims in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara. Hanta Ua Pua was held to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad. In addition, this ceremony also aims to celebrate entering Islam to Bima and respecting the missionary of Islam to Bima. One of the main attraction of the ceremony is a convoy of Uma Lige. Uma Lige is stretchers to carry the Malay headman of Kampung Melayu to kingdom palace of Bima. In Uma Lige also contained Quran and Ua Pua (Sirih Puan), 99 colorful eggs decoration, betel and areca nut. 99 colorful eggs decoration show 99 Asmaul Husna. Did you know? Uma Lige was carried by 44 peoples from different villages.
