Sambal goreng telor, eggs in a spicy sauce

Surely one of the most delicious eggs in a spicy sauce.


7 eggs
3 daun salam
1 slice laos, approximately 3cm
1.5 dl santen
salt to taste


5 shallots
3 cloves garlic
3 red chilies
1/2 tsp. trassi
1 tsp. sugar (gula djawa)


Make the paste by all cleaning, peeling, ontzaden (nice pttig? Leave the seeds in chilies), etc. Make it fine in the tjobek. (or in the food processor)

Boil the eggs hard, shell them.

Heat some oil and fry the paste, about 2 minutes. Put the daun salam and laos and fry for 1 minute. Add the santen and season with salt. Let simmer for 2 minutes. Tip: … 1 tablespoon tomato paste and add soy sauce.
