West java, Kencana Wungu dance

One other type of dance mask is a Kencana Wungu mask, which is a series of dance styles that tell the queen Kencana Parahyangan Wungu who was being chased by King Minakjingga who loved her.

Basically, each mask representing character describes the human disposition. Kencana Wungu, with blue mask, representing the character of a lively yet graceful. Minakjingga (also called wanderer), with a red mask represents a hot-tempered character, tempramental and impatient.

Hand and body movements are graceful, and musical accompaniment that is dominated by drums and fiddle, is another hallmark of the mask dance.
