Site Description
A small, high altitude (montane) swamp with open water and floating peat. The peat is about 2m thick. It is surrounded by a phragmites vegetation and Eupatorium. The main vegetation is Juncus effusus and Xyris melanocephala, with less abudant, Scirpus mucronatus. Phragmites karka is the most abundant plant. Principal vegetation: Juncus effusus, Xyris melanocephalus, Phragmites karka, Scirpus mucronata, Gunnera macrophylla, Eupatorium sp.
Site Location
Rawa Gajongjong is lies between Cibodas and Cibeureum (N. Gedeh), West Java, in Gede-Pangrango National Park, 60 km SSE of Jakarta, West Java.
