General
Birdlife International Indonesia Programme currently investigates the possibility and status of a future protected site in this 19,000 ha. area. Tanjung Ngunju is located in the south-easternmost part of Sumba and consists of secondary forest mixed with areas of open grassland and savanna woodland. Small areas of primary forest still exist at the higher altitudes.
Access
Take a bus from Waingapu heading for Baing at the south coast (4 hrs.).
Accommodation
There is no official accommodation in the area. Just ask the kepala desa.
